HI,
Im trying to set up a little gateway / firewall with linux but i cant get a ip for either of my nic's from my isp via dhcp, although static address's work fine.
i dont have this problem in my 'main' machine which runs xp and redhat. thinking it may be the mac address i stuck the card from my xp / redhat box into my other machine. this didnt work either.
any ideas as to why nothings working? i've tried redhat / slack / debian, checked cables, modules, etc etc... im bascially out of ideas .

Re: dhcp problem
Hi Sudesh,
I guess you have just one access and your ISP gives you an ip number. Installing the firewall you will cover up the other machines behind the firewall and the ISP will see just one machine as yours.
